6th grade students take part in learning about; hand tools, general sheet metal procedures, spot welding, drill and grinding. All students must pass a series of safety tests before working in the shop.

Projects might included building: Dog Tags, Pattern Cutouts, Key Holders, Storage Boxes and Birdhouses.

In addition to learning metalshop operations, 6th grade students will also take part in a course to learn about webpage construction for a portion of the class.

Each student will also get the opportunity to build a rocket using a soda bottle to test their hand at Industrial Technology type projects.
