7th grade students at DMS take on a challenging task as they move from the simple 6th grade practices into 7th grade. These students learn procedures and operations for using: Power Tools, Machines, Plasma Cutters, Oxy Welders and Mig Welders.DMS Metalshop

Projects might include: Completing Required Welds, Building a Lamp, Hotdog Cooker or working on a student's personal project.

Students will also expand on their knowledge for designing a website from 6th grade as they are required to design and build a website explaining the safety procedures for welding or create a safety video if they so choose.

While this course challenges many students they finish the class with a strong since of accomplishment and a good understanding of metalshop as they prepare for their final year at DMS metalshop.
